Ocoee2

The next day we were on the river early, probally 8:30 am. On the river, everything seeming so much easier in my Turbo 47 then my JIB, I had a lot of convidence, also I was with a great group of boaters. We played in holes, then played some more, there was so much on the Lower Ocoee that I had never known about. The rapids came and went, I ran Double Suck just fun despite "flirting" with the big hole, but hey, i'm just a flirt. The only trouble on the river was in the first 30 minutes I had a contact (disposable 1 day) fall out and that I breifly got stuck in the top hole of Broken Nose which I back surfed out of. Nearing the end of the run, I got the courage up to try Hells hole, I was very tired by that point and had a very very short run and just paddled down river to the take out. We were on the river a record for me 8 hours. We were going to do the lower then the upper that day, but no one really had it in them.

The next day we decided to do the upper, just the olympic section, park, play and film. Will I guess had a dream to run the river as it was rising and be lifted off a rock in the middle of the river as the water rose. He did sucessfully, with onlookers from the bridge pointing and gasping at the lone kayaker on the river. It seemed like fun, just there is the risk of swimming and there is no one else to get your boat. That about happened, Will decided to flirt with Humongous. Thank goodness I had decided to ask him to put my SLR in his drybag. He said he about swam, I'm very very glad he didn't, lesson learned. We played at a hole (if someone knows the name of it insert here :) ) for a good amount of hours. Tony was pulling some sick tricks out of his bag and he got some HUGE air in Will's G force? almost nailing a complete ariel loop. The Eric's who decided to go down the lower again met an old friend by coincidence, Terrell. Long story short, BEST KAYAKING TRIP EVER for me, hope there are many more to come. Thank you team dirt clod.
