How to SUBSCRIBE to a forum or topic.

If you want to receive an e-mail notification each time a forum ( group of topics ) or topic ( specific message/post ) is updated, subscribe to that forum or topic. It's easy.

1. Click on the forum or topic that you wish to subscribe to, then look for the words "Subscribe forum" or Subscribe topic" in the upper left hand corner of the forum or topic window. It should be just under the words "new topic".

2. Click on "Subscribe forum" or Subscribe topic". Next you should see a message that says you have subscribed to that forum or topic.

3. When you return to any forum or topic that you have subscribed to, you will see "Unsubscribe forum" or "Unsubscribe topic". Clicking on "Unsubscribe forum" or "Unsubscribe topic" will cancel your subscription to that forum or topic.

It's that easy.

Why is this important? With the new system here at MCC, trips can be added at any time by just about any registered user. Updates and changes can happen almost any time. Unless you are going to check this message board at least a few times a week, there's no way you are going to know about these updates, changes, and new trip posts. That is, unless you subscribe to the "Events" forum.

Once you subscribe to a forum or topic, an e-mail will be sent to you whenever there has been a new post to that forum or topic. I suggest subscribing to the "Events" forum, that way you will know about any and all new posts that take place in the entire forum, not just one topic within the forum.

You might also find it very helpful to subscribe to the "Gear Swap" forum if you are looking for a canoe or kayak to buy. Of course, you can subscribe to the "General Messages" and/or "Trip Reports" forums too, but that's up to you.

Yeah, you still have to check your e-mail once in a while ( daily? ), but hey, it's a lot easier than checking the message board obsesively.

Of course, you must be a registered user to take advantage of subscriptions on this message board. That's the best reason I know of to register. If you haven't already registered, do it now. It's free and as easy as sending an e-mail to the board administrator. REGISTRATION
